2025 Manchester Day of Action 'Purple Wave' Spring Hiking.

Manchester Day of Action (MDoA) is The University of Manchester’s flagship volunteer programme which includes our global alumni audience in the University’s social responsibility mission.  It is a fantastic way for alumni to gather behind a common purpose and at the same time, directly contribute to the University’s world-leading social impact. The University of Manchester China Centre has worked closely with local alumni groups to organize several influential activities.

This year, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Alliance Manchester Business School (#AMBS60), UoM China Centre will host a special Manchester Day of Action event called the ‘Purple Wave’ Spring Hike on May 10th. Alumni are encouraged to use their fitness apps to record their hiking routes and share photos, forming the shape of the number "60". This event is based on the third United Nations SDG—Good Health and Well-being. It aims to promote active participation in physical exercise among alumni, maintain their physical and mental well-being, and raise charitable funds to contribute to those in need.
