Alumni Industry Sharing:Decoding of the Silver Economy

Driven by demographic shifts and the wave of ESG investments, the eldercare industry is transforming from a cost centre into a strategic value hub. As "eldercare" becomes a buzzword, the industry faces challenges of service homogenization and unclear positioning—how can we precisely meet the professional health and wellness needs of clients? How can eldercare institutions break through with a differentiated strategy?

On 17 May 2025, the University of Manchester (UoM) China Centre will host Mr. Yi Lu, CFO of Columbia China Healthcare Group and a current student in the MSc Financial Management course, along with Mr. Langtian Zhang, MetLife Agency Manager of Shanghai Branch and an alumnus with a BAEcon Accounting & Finance and a MSc Commercial Project Management from the UoM. They will provide a comprehensive analysis of the strategic opportunities in the professional care sector and provide insights into frontline market demands.
