On 6 March 2025, Ms. Sherry Fu, Director of the University of Manchester China Centre, led a delegation to Beanstalk International Bilingual School (BIBS) Huairou Campus in Beijing. The visit, part of the series events of UoM China Educators club, aimed to strengthen academic collaboration and explore innovative practices in international education.
Ms. Lucy Di, Deputy Principal of BIBS Canadian High School(OSSD Program), and a student of the UoM’s Educational Leadership in Practice master programme (ELiP), hosted the delegation. She outlined BIBS’s development since its establishment in 1998, highlighting its campuses across Beijing and its academic achievements along the journey.
During discussions, Ms. Fu emphasised the China Centre’s commitment to supporting professionals through flexible postgraduate programmes like ELiP, which combines online and face-to-face learning tailored for working educators.
Ms. Di shared BIBS’s strategies for nurturing young faculty and fostering cross-cultural competencies. Both parties expressed interest in future collaboration.
The University of Manchester China Centre is committed to leverage the university’s academic resources to enhance professional development for BIBS staff and a wilder community, while BIBS aims to integrate global pedagogical expertise to further elevate its teaching quality.
